French bank Crédit Agricole’s is extending its HCE (Host Card Emulation) based mobile payment service to Visa holders. Only available to Mastercard card holders so far, the bank MaCarte application and Paylib, the French interbank payment brand, will now allow Visa card holders to use their smartphones to pay instore.
Crédit Agricole is the first bank in France to offer a mobile payment service based on HCE and covering both Visa and Mastercard cards.

The mobile payment service is based on dejamobile’s ReadyToTap Payment HCE solution. The service was commercially launched in April 2017 by Crédit Agricole Payment Services within MaCarte App and under the Paylib brand. The customers can safely pay contactless in store via the NFC function of their Android smartphones with no limited amount. The Ma Carte app also allows online payment on websites accepting Paylib.

Luc Laffon, Head of Mobile Payment Services at Crédit Agricole Payment Services testifies:
“We use dejamobile’s mobile payment solution which is multi-scheme certified (CB, Mastercard, Visa) and which meets high standards of transaction security. Dejamobile was one of the first editors to propose an operational solution for a Pilot with Mastercard as early as Q4 2015. Since then, and following the success of the Pilot, Crédit Agricole has integrated dejamobile’s SDK into the bank’s existing application “maCarte” and has also integrated the server-side applications into our internal payment service infrastructure. Crédit Agricole Payment Services teams rely on the strong support from dejamobile’s technical teams to operate and maintain the service. Our mobile payment service is fully operational since April 2017 and the adoption rate by our customers meets our expectations”.
