The rise of digital payments has become a reality. All over the world, consumers are increasingly trusting contactless payment means. This trend has significantly accelerated during the Covid-19 health crisis.

All market segments are impacted by this trend. Small merchants need a cost-effective and simple contactless payment acceptance solution. As for larger retails stores, they are willing to offer new shopping experiences and a seamless checkout to the consumers.

In this context and to become more competitive, multiple players have integrated Digital Payments in their innovation strategy. Initiatives from regulators, banks, governments, payment schemes and Fintechs have been taken to provide consumers with innovative and ubiquitous payment services.

Our white paper explores the recent and next-generation payment innovations at the point-of-sale, from the development of mPOS solutions over the last 10 years to the shift to software-only POS initiatives which are being deployed from 2020.

Driven by the regulation and by the generalization of the mobile first user experiences, the payment sector is shifting from hardware to software-based payment acceptance. This evolution is allowing more innovations in shopping, new payment experiences and the arrival of new players in the market.

Among these players is Dejamobile. Our Software POS solution, ReadyToTap Payment for Merchants, is allowing all merchants to accept contactless payments on any off-the-shelf Android NFC-enabled device. For all merchants, accepting contactless payments becomes as easy as downloading and using an application. Dejamobile’s mPOS solution is compliant with PCI CPoC and payment schemes specifications (Visa, Mastercard). The solution is already Visa Ready certified for Tap to phone with PIN capture.
