Up France today launches its Apple Pay service and allows iOS users to benefit from their Up lunch vouchers from their smartphone via the Apple Pay wallet application. In October 2019, Up France had already enabled Android smartphone users to digitise and pay with their lunch cards on their mobile via the G-Pay wallet.

Thus, from March 31, 2020, all “Up Déjeuner” card users, whether they are equipped with Android or iOS, can benefit from the mobile payment service.

Our teams have supported the Up Group, via its subsidiary MoveUp Solutions, to make these digital uses possible for the largest possible number of users.

The Up group’s service uses our ReadyToTap Payment solution and benefits from a connection to Mastercard’s MDES tokenisation service via our tokenisation Hub, which enables all types of cards (Mastercard, Visa, CB) to be digitised in all mobile wallets.

This collaboration allows MoveUp Solutions to offer a complete mobile payment solution to all Up Group subsidiaries, such as France and the Czech Republic, which have already opened the G-Pay service in October 2019 and February 2020 respectively.

The lunch voucher market is becoming increasingly digitised

Since 2014, with the release of the law governing the digitisation of lunch vouchers in France, the historical French issuers, including Groupe Up, are accelerating their digital transformation and now all offer digital lunch vouchers on mobile phones. Thus, the “Up Déjeuner” card can be dematerialised and used from applications known as “wallets” such as G-Pay and Apple Pay, allowing users to pay with their Smartphone thanks to NFC contactless technology.
