Dejamobile launches the first SoftPOS application compatible with the CB network.
This development will considerably facilitate the adoption of SoftPOS technology by merchants and increase the number of use cases for contactless payment acceptance.
Paris, 21 July 2022 – French fintech dejamobile, a specialist in mobile and contactless payment solutions, has announced the availability on the market of the first application based on SoftPOS technology (for Software POS or mobile POS) compatible with the CB network.
With a solid expertise accumulated since 2012 in digital payments, NFC technology, software and hardware security, dejamobile has developed an application for payment contactless acceptance. This 100% software-based solution is designed to transform Android smartphones and tablets into contactless payment terminals.
It is also the first solution of its kind on the market to be fully compatible with the CB network, the leading payment system in France with 73.9 million cards in circulation. Cartes Bancaires CB teams have supported dejamobile in implementing CB card acceptance in dejamobile’s ReadyToTap(™) solution to enable the first pilots in France of CB payment acceptance on SoftPOS.
“CB has been following the development of SoftPOS technology for a long time. We believe that it now has the necessary maturity to offer CB merchants innovative and secure contactless payment and collection solutions. CB, as an integrator of innovation, had to support a player such as dejamobile to enable CB acceptance in its solution. We are therefore very pleased that this successful integration will enable the launch of the first CB SoftPOS pilots”, says Loÿs Moulin, CB’s Director of Development.
“We are very pleased that our contactless payment acceptance solution, ReadyToTap(™) is the first to display the CB logo. Beyond confirming our position as the leader in SoftPOS technology in France, this is good news for merchants and payment players in France. SoftPOS technology has many advantages and, like any innovation, it must be trusted to be adopted.
“In this sense, working with CB is an essential step to widely deploy this technology on the French market. We would like to thank the CB teams and our acquiring customers for their cooperation throughout the certification process,” explains Ahmad Saif, CTO and co-founder of dejamobile.
SoftPOS or the payment terminal of tomorrow
SoftPOS (for Software Point Of Sale) is a 100% software-based alternative to traditional payment terminals. It is an application that any merchant can download onto a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) in order to transform it into a payment terminal, provided that it is equipped with NFC technology. Once installed, the application can accept contactless payments of any amount directly on the mobile device.
By digitizing the entire payment acceptance process, the advantage of SoftPOS is clear for both the small retailer and the large retailer: it frees them from the costs and constraints of installing and maintaining a fleet of physical terminals. Above all, the solution is easy to use and flexible, and can be used for a variety of contactless payment applications, whether in-store, on the move or in retail.
